When it originally released in 1997, the Air Max 97 model changed running shoes forever. It was the first of Nike's popular AM line to feature a full length, visible air pocket. Sixteen years later, Nike is continuing to change the game, this time updating the classic silhouette with their new Engineered Mesh material throughout the upper. EM offers a number of performance benefits, but most notably increased breathability and durability. It's also lighter than the previous mesh used on AM97 models. All in all, these performance and aesthetic updates make for a capable runner in today's world.

If you're interested in picking up a pair, they're available at NSW retailers like Kith NYC for $155.
