Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling Team Up to Save Humanity in 'Blade Runner 2049' Trailer

If this sequel isn't great, then I give up on movies forever.

The new trailer for the only sequel that matters this year has arrived. Blade Runner 2049 debuted its latest peek on Good Morning America Monday, giving fans a bit more to chew on ahead of the film's Oct. 6 release. Watch the new trailer above. If you don't care about this movie, then don't worry. This movie doesn't care about you either.

As I said previously, all signs—so far, anyway—point to this long-awaited sequel not being shitty. To recap, here's just a bit of what Blade Runner 2049 has going for it:

A fucking amazing director

Denis Villeneuve is the same guy behind one of 2016’s finest pieces of cinema, the near-perfect Arrival.

An amazing cast

In addition to Ford and Gosling, 2049 also counts Robin Wright and Jared Leto in its roster.

An R rating

Just like the 1982 original, 2049 has the benefit of the R. In fact, Villeneuve joked to Screen Daily last year that the movie just might go down as "one of the most expensive R-rated independent feature films ever made." Sounds good to me.

Check the official Blade Runner 2049 synopsis below, then start annoying your friends to go see it with you this October.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what's left of society into chaos. K's discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
