Karrueche Tran Granted 5-Year Restraining Order Against Chris Brown

Karrueche Tran testified Thursday about Brown's actions, which included threats.

Karrueche Tran has been granted a five-year restraining order against Chris Brown. Tran took the stand Thursday in her case against Brown, TMZreported. Brown was not in attendance for the hearing.

Tran told a judge Thursday that Brown demanded the return of diamond rings he had purchased for her after she broke up with him. When those requests were denied, Tran alleges, Brown acted aggressively and sent threatening text messages. In one text message, Brown allegedly said, "Bitch I will beat the shit out of you." Brown is also said to have threatened to ban Tran "from all events." In another text message, TMZreported, Brown allegedly promised to make Tran's life "hell."

In E! News-obtained documents related to Tran's filing of a temporary restraining order in February, Brown was accused of threatening to kill Tran and harassing her friends. Physical abuse, Tran alleged, started years ago when Brown punched her in the stomach. Brown is also accused of pushing Tran down the stairs. "Around the second week of February, [Brown] told a few people that he was going to kill me," Tran said in a written statement to the court, the New York Daily Newsreported.

Brown, who was reportedly not allowed to call in to Thursday's hearing, has publicly denied these allegations. "What all them other people on the outside doing, let them do what they doing," Brown said in social media posts that have since been removed. "I don't know what the fuck they talking about."

In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting former girlfriend Rihanna.
