Rosario Dawson's cousin died after being found unresponsive last week, TMZreported Monday. The Marvel's The Defenders star reportedly found Vanez Ines Vasquez, 26, "lying unresponsive" on Thursday before calling paramedics, who were unable to revive her.

Vasquez, who was also an employee of Dawson's, was discovered in the downstairs area of Dawson's residence in the Venice area of Los Angeles, California, according toTMZ. She had reportedly been experiencing "migraines" in recent days and had also been diagnosed with hypertension. Vasquez is believed to have died from "natural causes" and had "no history" of substance abuse.

At the time of this article's publication, Dawson had not publicly commented on her cousin's death. Additional information had not been reported.

Speaking about her family in a 2012 interview with the Guardian, Dawson recalled her relationship with her adoptive father and her childhood in New York's Lower East Side. "I think about that now," Dawson said at the time. "Such a young man, marrying a woman with a baby who's not his—that just doesn't happen. He just loved my Mom, and he loved me, and I loved my Dad, you know?"

In addition to her career as a prolific film and television actress, Dawson is also known for her work in political activism. Throughout 2016, Dawson was vocally supportive of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign.
