An animated Deadpool series is coming to FXX. The network announced Wednesday that the currently untitled project has been given a series order. Donald Glover and his brother, Stephen Glover, will serve as the sure-to-be-great series' showrunners. The duo, who worked together on last year's critical smash Atlanta, will also write and executive produce Marvel Television and FX Productions' take on Deadpool.

"Donald Glover is an incredibly gifted and versatile artist who'll bring the untitled Marvel's Deadpool series to life with the same intense, singular vision as his breakout hit Atlanta," Nick Grad, co-president of original programming at FX, said in a statement to Complex. "With the success of Legion, we're looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking, and entirely original."

The series will premiere its 10-episode inaugural season in 2018, the same year we expect to be treated to season 2 of AtlantaAccording to the Hollywood Reporter, Glover has already set up a writers' room for the untitled animated series in London, where he's currently working on the upcoming Star Wars film focused on a young Han Solo.

Next year will also see the release of Fox's Deadpool sequel, which was recently given a June 1 release date. The original Deadpool, starring Ryan Reynolds, stuck to its R-rated guns in 2016 and became a box office success story in the process. Atlanta's Zazie Beetz will star in the tentatively titled Deadpool 2as Domino:
