The blame for former reality TV personality Donald Trump's election has been directed at everything from the media, fake news, white women voters, and the FBI. But Chelsea Handler's got a yet-unexplored, piping hot election take in a new interview with Variety. Handler wants to shift the blame of Trump's rise to commander-in-chief to the celebrity culture surrounding the Kardashians

When asked if she believes the media treated Hillary Clinton unfairly, Handler replied, "Absolutely. 100 percent." Pressed for what she thinks the media could have done differently, she said:

Stop covering [Trump] so much. They were treating him as an entertainer first. It was a reality show. We’ve turned into a reality show. I blame the Kardashians, personally; the beginning of the end was the Kardashians. The way these people have blown up and don’t go away — it’s surreal. Everyone is for sale. We’re looking at a man that gets mad at Vanity Fair for reviewing his restaurant poorly. By the way, have you ever been to that restaurant? It’s the biggest piece of garbage you’ve ever walked into. That place looks like a Southwest airport lounge. It’s the worst.

The interview then shifted to Kanye's recent visit to Trump Tower for a controversial meeting with the president-elect. Asked about whether she'd seen the news, Handler replied, "Kanye needs to get on his meds."

Trump's Twitter rant castigating Handler for her remarks—for that matter, shade from 'Ye—is likely imminent.
