Lots of breaking kissing news today, apparently. First we got The Weeknd maybe or maybe not getting "mouthsy" with Selena Gomez after a pasta dinner. Now, because the universe knows we needed it, we have Andrew Garfield and Stephen Colbert rocking a quick kiss (with no pasta dinner) on The Late Show.
After reminding Garfield that he did not bag a Golden Globe at Sunday's ceremony, Colbert brought attention to the heavily tweeted kiss Garfield shared with Ryan Reynolds. "You also had one of the most memorable moments," Colbert said Tuesday. "You kinda stole focus, because you were sitting there with Ryan Reynolds. He was up against Ryan Gosling for the Golden Globe." Then, as you already know, the kiss happened:
"I just wanted Ryan to know that I loved him no matter whether he won or lost," Garfield explained. "Just, it doesn’t matter. It's how you play the game. He showed up and he gave his all, doesn't change anything in my heart." Then, sensing the mood was right for a sequel kiss, Garfield leaned in for some Colbert:
Hell yeah. In a unified act of defiance against the whirlwind of fuckery and bullshit that's consuming our daily lives, let's make 2017 a really big year for kisses.
