Stephen Colbert finally made his way back to the Late Show Wednesday night, emerging from a bummer-inducing holiday break to take a gander at the headlines currently piling up around the President-elect's White House transition process. "What's happening guys?" Colbert asked his audience. "Seriously. What the hell is going on? I haven't been watching the news much the last week, and I just kinda dipped my wick in last night and, uh, I still don't know what to make of our President-elect. It's hard to know what he's doing."

For example, the President-elect shared a feast of dead frogs and/or "baby souls" with former rival Mitt Romney Tuesday:

Romney was right. Trump's a "fraud" and "phony." Does he have any intention of keeping his promises or has he played Americans for suckers? pic.twitter.com/muk6nXE68k

"The billionaire of the people ordered young garlic soup with thyme and sautéed frog legs," Colbert said of the meeting, which comes as Romney is reportedly being considered as a secretary of state pick.  "I thought he said he was going to drain the swamp, not eat its contents!" Colbert then reminded viewers that, just months ago, Romney was out in front of cameras criticizing his new frog leg consumption partner.

"I bet those frogs' legs taste a little bit like Trump's balls," Colbert theorized, noting that Romney once called the President-elect's many campaign promises "as worthless as" a degree from Trump University.

Baby souls, garlic soup, frog legs, and a pair of KKK-endorsed testicles. What a meal.
