With Festivus now just days away, the spirit of grievance airings is finally in full swing. To celebrate this most precious of seasons, Lionsgate has generously presented us with another look at next year's John Wick: Chapter 2. Keanu Reeves, in a move that should shock no one, once again looks cool as shit in this latest peek at Chad Stahelski's sequel to the surprise 2014 hit.
Speaking with Collider back in October, Stahelski said Chapter 2 was the result of an admirable instance of just saying "fuck it" and diving right in. "When it came to coming up with a story idea, we had like ten bad ideas, and then we were like, 'fuck it,' what would have just happened the next day," he said. "Once we stopped worrying about ourselves, it was fun. Is it as good as the first one? I don't know, that's personal opinion."
Personal opinions aside, the mood surrounding Chapter 2 seems to fall somewhere between calm confidence and uncontrollable stokedness. As Stahelski revealed, a third John Wick is already the subject of some optimistic chats. "The studio has asked us to put our heads together and see if we can come up with something," Stahelski said. "Winston's [McShane] is a big part of the next one, so is Lance Reddick. We've got some ideas."
John Wick: Chapter 2 opens Feb. 10, 2017.
