Three hours of a meandering 'Batman v Superman:' That's a great way to get Michael Shannon to fall asleep.

Like so many of my fellow hardened moviegoers, arguably the best sleep of my life came right in the middle of this year's Batman v Superman: Yawn of Justice. But Zack Snyder's three-hour opus, which inadvertently gave rise to the brief reign of Sad Ben Affleck, was also just the sort of sleep aid Michael Shannon needed on a long international flight.

Shannon, who made a quick General Zod cameo in Batman v Superman, made this comforting observation during a recent chat with Fandango. "You're gonna get me in trouble, man!" Shannon said Monday when asked if he had bothered with peeping Snyder's final product. "People ask me about this all the time. Okay, I'll tell you the god's honest truth. Zack [Snyder] is gonna kill me for this. He's gonna kill me. I watched it once and I fell asleep."

If a plane sounds to you like the worst place to watch a movie of this size, Shannon doesn't totally disagree with you. "I shouldn't have been watching it on a plane," Shannon said. "But I never go to the movies anymore! I don't have time to see anything. I used to go to the movies all the time when I was 20 years old and wasn't working 10 days a week." 10 days a week? Same.

If you're interested in movies that are far more compelling and won't literally put you to sleep, you can next peep Michael Shannon in Tom Ford's Nocturnal Animals alongside Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal:
