'Drunk History' gave Lin-Manuel Miranda a whole damn episode to tell the 'Hamilton' story in a different, drunker way.

Drunk History, far and away the best show on TV about getting sloshed and recounting historical events, came full circle Tuesday night. As longtime Drunk History aficionados will recall, creator Derek Waters first launched the series as a web short featuring Michael Cera as Alexander Hamilton and Jake Johnson as Aaron Burr back in 2007. For this week's Hamilton-themed episode, the Comedy Central series grabbed soon-to-be EGOT champion Lin-Manuel Miranda to tell (an intoxicated version of) that fateful Burr-Hamilton duel.

Miranda, clearly a fun AF sort-of-drunk, manages to sneak in everything from a Semisonic reference to a FaceTime chat with Questlove. Dave Grohl, Aubrey Plaza, Alia Shawkat, and Tony Hale also make appearances in Miranda's drunken Hamilton tale. Speaking with Vox ahead of the season 4 premiere, Waters broke down how the episode came together.

"I wanted to reiterate that this would be a completely different thing, and that I would want him to tell stuff he didn't get to tell in the musical, and that it would be a whole episode," Waters said back in August. "One story for a half-hour is bold, so I wanted to make sure we did it in a delicate and smart way. Because that's what I want to find: great stories told by people who are passionate about them."

For creative projects of the non-drunken variety, Miranda has plenty on his plate for the next few years. As announced Tuesday, dude just inked a deal with Lionsgate to serve as creative producer and "musical mastermind" for a cross-platform adaptation of Patrick Rothfuss' Kingkiller Chronicle fantasy. For now, you can currently catch Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson singing Miranda's songs in Disney's smash hit Moana.
