Brad Pitt has reportedly submitted his formal response to Angelina Jolie's divorce filing. According toABC News, Pitt is seeking joint custody of his and Jolie's six children. Pitt filed legal documents Friday asking a judge to grant him the shared custody rights. In her initial divorce request, Jolie had asked for sole physical custody.

An alleged incident involving Pitt and one of the children has complicated divorce proceedings, with TMZ reporting in September that the two had reached a temporary agreement recommended by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The three-week deal, according to TMZ, included random drug and alcohol exams for Pitt and a variety of "counseling services" for the entire family.

"There has been a lot of damaging information leaked about Brad from Jolie's camp, but in the past month, things have quietened down," a source toldPage Six of Pitt's recent filing for joint custody. "Now he is challenging Jolie and asking for joint custody of the kids. There is an expectation that there will be more attacks from her camp."

Though both Pitt and Jolie haven’t addressed the divorce publicly, previous statements from their representatives asked for a respect of their privacy as the split is finalized. "Angelina Jolie-Pitt has filed for dissolution of the marriage," Jolie's attorney toldPeople back in September. "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting at this time, and asks that the family be given their privacy during this difficult time."
