Samuel L. Jackson has been confirmed as not giving a single damn, but perhaps you're in the mood to give at least one. A frequent source of confusion surrounding the ongoing divorce proceedings between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has reportedly been clarified once and for all as Pitt has been cleared of abuse allegations by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), TMZreported Wednesday.

The investigation had reportedly centered on an "incident" in September involving Pitt and son Maddox while on a private jet. Law enforcement sources toldTMZ Wednesday that the case, which was "exhaustively investigated," shows Pitt "did not commit child abuse" during an argument. During the investigation, DCFS workers thoroughly interviewed the entire family and additional witnesses before concluding that no additional action would be required.

The news comes just days after Pitt filed for joint custody of his and Jolie's six children. ABC Newsreported Saturday that Pitt's legal team had filed the necessary documents in response to Jolie's sole physical custody request in the initial divorce petition. Jolie cited "irreconcilable differences" but TMZclaimed she was "extremely upset" with Pitt's parenting methods.

"I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time," Pitt said.
