The hashtag #BlackPantherSOLIT is getting a second life now that the Marvel movie has added the Oscar-nominated Angela Bassett. Bassett joins the already stacked cast after starring in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Roanoke, the sixth season of the AHS anthology series, this year.

Marvel announced Bassett’s casting Monday in a news release, saying she will be playing “Ramonda, mother of T’Challa, aka Black Panther.” Ramonda is a former Queen of Wakanda, the African nation where Black Panther takes place, and wife to T'Chaka the King (T’Challa’s father). Black Panther will star Chadwick Boseman as its titular hero, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, The Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira, and Forest Whitaker, among others. Black Panther will be directed and co-written by Ryan Coogler, who is teaming up with Jordan again after having collaborated on Fruitvale Station and last year’s Creed.

Bassett has recently been on Bojack Horseman and American Horror Story: Roanoke. She was also seen in seasons three through five of AHS. A representative for Bassett didn't respond to Complex's request for comment.

Speaking to Comic Book Resources this summer, Chadwick Boseman saidBlack Panther would be “gritty.” While discussing how he prefers “darker superhero movies” and how Black Panther was coming along, Boseman said: "I feel like we'll end up in a place that I've always wanted to be when I look at superhero movies. Those are the ones I like the most. It's exciting to do that."

And it seems other people besides Boseman are excited about the film, especially with Bassett’s casting.
