For their first episode after an election in which a real estate mogul lost the popular vote but still secured the presidency, Saturday Night Live gave us an emotional cold open featuring Kate McKinnon reprising her Hillary Clinton impression. McKinnon's performance of the late Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" captured the mood of the nation, though many couldn't help but wonder about the future of Alec Baldwin's potentially jaw-breaking take on the President-elect. According to Baldwin, he's simply not available every Saturday night.

"What's interesting is when people said to me, 'You didn't do it after the election,'" Baldwin told Variety at a American Museum of Natural History gala in New York Thursday night. "I'm not available every Saturday night of my life, you know what I mean? We had other things to do." According toVariety, Baldwin will return as the President-elect on this weekend's Kristen Wiig-led episode.

During an interview on the Brian Lehrer Show last week, Baldwin detailed the extensive physical anguish required to nail the "aggressive" performance. In fact, dude nearly fucked up his jaw. "You just watch him and try to see him, like a caricaturist who draws," Baldwin said, as first spotted by the Hollywood Reporter. "This is an exaggeration. I almost sprained my jaw pushing my lower jaw forward to talk the way he does."

Given all that's happened with the President-elect's White House team this week, Saturday Night Live has no shortage of material. A David Duke-approved chief strategist? Check. A David Duke-approved national security advisor? Check. A David Duke-approved attorney general? Check. This is your chance to do something really cool, SNL. Don't fuck it up.
