"Space Jam has been a family favorite for the last 20 years and is sure to remain so for the next 20 and beyond," Tom Lucas, Fathom's VP of Studio Relations, said in a press release. "This event is the perfect chance for audiences of all ages to view the film as it was meant to be seen—on the big screen."

The screenings will impact more than 450 theaters across the nation, including spots in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Portland, and elsewhere. Ticket and location info is available right here.

The film, which also stars Bill Murray and Danny DeVito, has been the subject of some serious sequel speculation in recent months. Pytka, speaking with the Hollywood Reporter about the prospects of a LeBron James-centered sequel directed by Justin Lin, insisted that returning to the Space Jam well for nostalgia's sake is a pretty shitty idea.

"Don't do it," Pytka advised. "It's doomed. Michael Jordan was the biggest star on the planet." According to Pytka, the original film only worked thanks to the "perfect storm" of talent available at the time. "They all had a persona that complemented the film," Pytka said. "There are none around like that now."
