Frodo Baggins and Harry Potter almost threw down in real life, at least according to Elijah Wood.

Prior to his underrated stint as an excessively flatulent corpse in this year's Swiss Army Man, Daniel Radcliffe made a few tiny movies known collectively as the Harry Potter franchise. Elijah Wood, a person who has nothing at all to do with Daniel Radcliffe, also starred in a tiny franchise of his own, Lord of the Rings. Despite having nothing in common, the two actors have been memed and mocked incessantly for apparently looking like similar dudes.

This long-running annoyance, at least according to Wood, almost resulted in a real-life Frodo Baggins v. Harry Potter brawl. Speaking with Conan O'Brien Wednesday, Wood discussed the Fantastic Fest showdown that never was. "I go to this film festival every year called Fantastic Fest," Wood said. "They do this thing called the Fantastic Debates, which is effectively two people in a boxing ring, as it turns out, debating a topic. Each person debates the topic, then they have a rebuttal, then they actually box. A proper debate, and then it's fisticuffs."

Though he and Radcliffe came very close to facing off in the ring, Wood admitted he ultimately "squashed" the whole thing. "I was like, I don't want to fight this guy," Wood said. "I don't want the culmination of the fact that we look alike or somehow get mistaken for each other to end up in a boxing ring."

But back to that flatulent corpse thing. Swiss Army Man, starring Radcliffe and the god Paul Dano, is surprisingly really great and doesn't even vaguely resemble some random Elijah Wood movie. Peep it.
