Actor Jon Polito, who was most widely recognized for his roles in Coen brother films like The Big Lebowki, Barton Fink, and Miller's Crossing, died on Friday. His death was announced by director John McNaughton in a Facebook post. Polito was 65, and the cause of his death has not yet been revealed.
"Jon was a born actor and will be deeply missed by his legion of friends, fans, family and of course his long time partner, Darryl Armbruster to whom I send my condolences," McNaughton wrote.
During his 35-year movie career, Polito appeared in more than 100 films. Most recently, he secured a role in a movie called The Maestro, which is in pre-production. He has also appeared on hit television shows like Modern Family, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Two and a Half Men, Scrubs, Gilmore Girls, and Bunheads, and he spent time working on Broadway as well.
