When in need of another billion or so bucks in the bank, why not head back to the same well responsible for The Twilight Saga? That's the tease we're getting from Summit and Lionsgate in a recent discussion with Screen Daily at the Zurich Film Festival. According to Lionsgate chairman Patrick Wachsberger, the cinematic accomplishments of Twilight were a total "game-changer" and they'd be very down for some more.

"It's a possibility," Wachsberger, who was honored at the Zurich Film Festival for his decades-long career, said of bringing back Twilight for additional fantasy and romance and whatnot. "Not a certainty but it's a possibility. It's about [writer Stephenie Meyer]. If she wants to tell a story related to those characters, we're here for her."

As astutely pointed out byCosmopolitan, Meyer's non-Twilight book and resulting adaptation The Host didn't exactly fill the box office void left behind after Breaking Dawn: Part 2 (temporarily?) closed the door on the franchise in 2012 with some serious wedding-and-a-kid vibes. The Host, starring a pre-Brooklyn Saoirse Ronan, ultimately bagged just over $60 million at the global box office before settling on an 8 percent critical average on Rotten Tomatoes.

Breaking Dawn: Part 2, just for the sheer fun of contrast, fared slightly better with critics. The movie also, um, did way more than $60 million at the box office. What I'm saying is the last Twilight movie came very, very, very close to scooping up a billion bucks all by itself. Hell, what's a billion more?
