Bill Nye, beloved guy of science and all-around renegade, is bringing some reason to the late-night proceedings with his very own talk show. Bill Nye Saves the World will debut on Netflix next spring, the streaming giant announced Wednesday. As one would hope, the series will take an episodic look at different topics from a refreshingly pro-science point of view.

"Since the start of the Science Guy show, I've been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science," Nye said in a joint statement with Netflix Wednesday. "Today, I'm excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we'll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods, and climate change. With the right science and good writing, we'll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we'll change the world a little."

Holy shit. Did you see that? Dude straight-up called out brainless anti-vaxxers in a press release! Just wait until the real show kicks off.

Bill Nye Saves the World will take a decidedly more confrontational approach than the OG Science Guy series, which is great news for everyone hoping to see religious leaders and politicians proven absolutely wrong on a regular basis. The new series will also feature special guests, fresh experiments, and promises to "let the facts" take the steering wheel.

A show like this definitely could have come in handy when TV personality Sarah Palin blasphemously accused Nye of not being a science guy back in April. "Bill Nye is as much a scientist as I am," Palin said in front of actual human beings, according to the Hill. "He's a kids' show actor. He's not a scientist."

Welcome back, Bill. Let's show these anti-science goons what's what.
