The only animated movie that matters is finally bringing its filthy delectability to theaters next month, kicking off a Sausage Party for all that's sure to make families across the worldsuper happy. As previous trailers and teases have suggested, Seth Rogen's first animated feature will take a refreshingly existential approach to chronicling the life of everyday food items. The latest NSFW trailer, which you should totally play for your co-workers right now with the volume profoundly cranked, puts that existential hunger front and center.

Sausage Party, which also boasts the distinction of being the first R-rated CG movie ever, follows an inquisitive sausage as he leads a group of fellow supermarket staples on a hella existential quest. That quest, given that these characters are in fact considered merely "food" to many, involves a lot of hilariously presented dietary questions.

"This was the first time we ended a movie with the intention of making another one," Rogen told a lucky viewing audience at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con Thursday, Deadlinereports. "We want to make sausage-talking movies for the rest of our lives." Rogen added that, given the fact the movie's delightful filth centers mostly on food and not people, the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) was a bit perplexed.

"I really don't think the MPAA knew how to handle this film," Rogen said. "When Sammy the Bagel takes his testicles over his face, the MPAA said to just remove a few hairs." The film, which currently runs just under 90 minutes in length, may even receive the unrated director's cut treatment. "We could show the extended orgy scene," Rogen joked. Please do, Seth Rogen. Please do.

Sausage Party was penned by Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Conrad Vernon, and Jonah Hill. The Oscar-worthy party of sausages was co-directed by Vernon and Greg Tiernan, the same guy who brought you many classic moments on the very not R-rated Thomas & Friends. Rogen, Hill, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, and many more have starring roles. Anyway, you shouldn't need more reasons than that to catch it in theaters (with the whole fam!) starting Aug. 12.
