Customise your controller like you do your kicks.

NIKEiD is pretty sick, but you already knew that. Nike have been letting heads customise their kicks online, changing up the colourways and making them fit their personal style for years now. But what if you could do the same for your game controllers?

Customised controllers are definitely a thing, but they’ve always been unofficial (apart from the occasional game-tie in). But now Microsoft are launching the ‘Xbox Design Lab’, which is, well, NIKEiD for Xbox controllers, basically. There’s a new redesigned pad launching with the new Xbox One Slim, and they’re letting you design your own. You can choose a custom colour for pretty much every part of the handset, including the body, the back, the d-pad, buttons and thumbsticks. You can also get the controller engraved with text, like maybe your Xbox Live name, or I dunno, maybe a swear word.

They’ll start shipping in September (in the US, at least), but you can start playing around with your perfect design now, and they’ll set you back $79.99 each with an extra $9.99 for text.
