The animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s all-time classic graphic novel The Killing Joke is already getting a lot of Batman-heads excited. The original comic is generally regarded as one of the greatest Batman stories ever, offering a (possible) origin for the Joker and featuring utterly beautiful art — but when it was announced that the adaptation would feature the voice talents of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, the voices behind Batman and the Joker respectively in the 90s animated series (and regarded by many fans as the definitive interpretations of the characters), it only increased the hype.

Now it would seem that the producers have similar faith in the film - as it’s going to get a one night cinema release in the UK ahead of it hitting DVD and VOD. It was already announced that it was going into cinemas in America, but now it’s also been confirmed that UK fans will get to go and see it on July 25, and you can already book tickets here. And if you don’t like leaving your house, or just straight hate being in the company of other people, it’ll be on DVD from August 8.
