Studio Ghibli Are Making a Real Life Version of the Catbus from 'My Neighbour Totoro'

Just imagine being able to ride on its fluffy seats.

Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbour Totoro is one of the most beautiful animated movies ever made. And amongst its many wonderful creations, the Catbus — a giant furry cat who is also a bus — is possibly the most memorable. Just imagine being able to ride it, and sink into it’s fluffy seats.

Soon, that will be a possibility. Studio Ghibli has its own museum in Tokyo that has exhibits and attractions based on their films (kind of like a smaller, classier version of Disneyland). They do have a Catbus there, but it’s only for kids. But now they’re making one for adults! The mueseum is currently closed for renovations, but will reopen in July with a new exhibit called “Ride the Catbus to the Ghibli Woods,” which as the name suggests, will involve getting on the bus.
