The comic book-turned-movie industry is certainly experiencing a boon, and the latest comic-based film to be announced is a film centering on Harley Quinn. THR reported Monday that Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn in the upcoming Suicide Squad film, will play the DC Comics villian once again in the as-yet-untitled Harley movie. She'll also be on board as a producer.

The film won't exclusively focus on Harley Quinn, according to THR. While specific details are not yet available, it seems the movie will also prominently feature other female villains and superheroes, such as Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. The writer of the film has yet to be announced, but it's reportedly a woman. The film was the brainchild of Robbie, who brought on a writer to create the script, and the idea was quickly taken up by Warner Bros. The release date of the movie is not yet known.

Robbie is of course starring in the Suicide Squad, slated for an Aug. 5 release, and will also star Terminal. With previous roles in  The Wolf of Wall StreetAbout Time, and The Big Short, the 25-year-old Australian actress may now be finding a new niche in action films.

Warner Bros. did not immediately reply to Complex's request for comment.
