'The Flash' Director Drops Out Over Creative Differences

Nobody panic.

With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice failing with fans and critics alike and Warner Bros. scared into producer fewer films, the pressure is on for the current films on the slate. Things are looking clear for the Justice League films despite Zack Snyder’s involvement and Ben Affleck just got the go-head for his solo Batman film. However, that Flash movie with Ezra Miller is not off to a great start.

According to Collider, director Seth Grahame-Smith has left the project due to "creative differences" and the search is on to find his replacement. Smith, who penned the parody novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and only directed two episodes of an MTV scripted series before signing on, will keep his hands busy with the LEGO Batman movie in the meantime.

For those who are already writing off the film, it’s not exactly doomed just yet. There’s still some leeway to find a new director since the film won’t come out until March 3, 2018. And this wouldn’t be the first time a director left a major comic book film. When Edgar Wright parted ways with Ant-Man in 2014, many predicted that the film would fail and, well, we all know how that turned out.
