There's a Nationwide Season of Studio Ghibli Movies Starting in Cinemas This Weekend

See them on the big screen, like they're meant to be seen.

We don’t need to tell you how dope Studio Ghibli is. Even the most anime-phobic cinemagoers have been charmed by the animation studio’s masterworks, like Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and Ponyo.

Now there’s going to be chance to see their movies back on the big screen. To tie in with the UK release of their latest film When Marnie Was There, Picturehouse Cinemas are running a nationwide season of Ghibli films in their screens across the country. It starts this weekend with Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (technically a film that pre-dates Ghibli, but it still counts), and continues through to July with The Tale of the Princess Kaguya. As well as the big hitters like Princess Mononoke and My Neighbour Totoro, it also includes a few rarely screened deep cuts like Only Yesterday.

Check out the website to see when and where they’re playing near you.
