Sony is all about the '90s and sequels right now. Sony's got a Jumanji reboot officially starring The Rock (and possibly Kevin Hart) on the way and the 21 Jump StreetMen in Black crossover. That's why Sony moving forward with a sequel for the '90s nostalgia-based Goosebumps movie is a no-brainer.

The Hollywood Reporterexclusively reports Sony's plans for the Goosebumps sequel. Goosebumps, the movie adaptation of R.L. Stine's book series of the same name, was referred to by one of our own as a (in PG terms) knockoff version of Jumanji. This was unlike the Goosebumps TV series which some argue was better than Are You Afraid of the Dark?

The premise for the Goosebumps movie premise centered on the havoc after all of the creepy, crawly things in Stine's books were unleashed from their book worlds and into the real world. Jumanji sees a board game come to life.

Jack Black starred in Goosebumps playing Stine. THRreports he'll be asked to reprise his role. Goosebumps director Rob Letterman and writer Darren Lemke will also reportedly return for the sequel reportsTHR.

According toTHR, Goosebumps went on to make $157 million on a $58 million budget. It opened at number one at the box office during its October release with $23.5 million.
