Does Emilia Clarke look drunk to you in the above photograph? Buzzed, maybe? Perhaps just a bit tipsy?
The Game of Thrones star has been naked on premium cable, a lot. She wasn't always crazy about it, apparently, but she did it, probably sober. We're also assuming she was probably not hammered during her Broadway play, during which she got nude on stage and forced the theater to step up security. But when it came time to shoot the cover for Esquire's "Sexiest Woman Alive" issue, she needed to imbibe before stripping down to join a club that in recent years includes Rihanna, Mila Kunis and Penelope Cruz.
According toEntertainment Tonight, the British actress told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show that her nervousness during the Sexiest Woman Alive photo shoot last year could only be combated by getting in the spirit drinking tons of spirits.
"That was a funny shoot," Clarke said of the seductive photos. "Doing those kind of sex scenes on camera is one thing, but doing it as yourself, I need alcohol to do."
At least she was laying down in all the photos we've seen. It's safer that way, less distance to fall.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its sixth season on April 24.
