Anyone expecting to see some teaser footage of the upcoming solo movie for X-Men’s Gambit are going to be in for a disappointment as it’s been reported that shooting has been pushed back till the end of 2016.

Fans of the ‘Ragin’ Cajun’ we’re at least expecting to see some principle footage, even a stock photo of Channing Tatum as Gambit this year, but even that's looking unlikely. Tatum is still billed to play the popular X-Man and Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) is still attached to direct the film, but according to Den of Geek the issue lies with the script. It’s been reported that the screenplay has gone back for ‘further writing’ therefore making it’s intended 2017 release date look less likely.

While it may come as disappointment to some, we’re hoping that this setback means that they’re dedicated to making a film that’s worthy of Gambit’s reputation and popularity, similar to this year’s excellent Deadpool movie… and less like X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
