Classic 90s Sonic was so dope.

Sonic The Hedgehog turns 25 this year, and with all due respect to the blue guy, his best days are petty much behind him. While we’ve all moved on modern games Call of Duty and GTA, Sonic still keeps coming out with 3D platformers that no-one cares about (remember when they gave him a nerckerchief to try and make him up to date?).

But back in the early-to-mid 90s, Sonic was the man. We couldn’t get enough of his classic 16-bit games. And no it appears an unreleased, never-previously-known Sonic game from that era has been discovered. Sega Sonic Bros was uncovered by Tumblr user ShouTime, who previously found an ultra obscure Sonic game that was build into a vending machine. Sega Sonic Bros looks like it was a puzzle game similar to Tetris and may have introduced a couple of new, different coloured hedgehog characters (hence the ‘Bros.’ in the title).

It’s impossible to see a game called ‘Sonic Bros.’ and not think it might have been biting on Sonic’s great 90s rival Super Mario Bros. Also, from 2016, calling anything ‘Bros’ just makes us think it’s going to have reimagined in the style of the cast of Entourage.
