Justin Bieber's "Sorry," despite its song-like exterior, is really just the elusive Great American Novel ingeniously condensed into poetry form. To prove this obvious fact, Vanity Fair gathered a bunch of top-shelf celebrities to passionately recite the lyrics to Bieber's opus with the appropriate amount of gravitas.

"Is it too late now to say sorry that I don't know this song?" Jon Hamm, a.k.a. the Artist Formerly Known as Don Draper, tragically opines in the clip's intro. John Legend, however, approaches this obvious poetry with a far more inviting vibe by immediately humming the blockbuster single's instantly recognizable melody.
