Raise your hand if your favorite book as a child was A Wrinkle in Time... Yeah? Me too. Well, bless up because Disney's film adaptation of the Madeleine L'Engle classic (1963) just got a director, and it's none other than—drumroll, pleaseAva DuVernay

This is exciting news for longtime fans of the sci-fi/fantasy book because DuVernay, whose directorial eye got her a Best Picture Oscar nom for Selma, is on her way to become one of the most important names in the biz. At the very least, we already know it's going to look really good. The source material, which follows a young girl on a multi-dimensional journey to find her missing father, provides an imaginative visual canvas that DuVernay is going to paint the hell out of. Plus, Frozen writer/co-director Jennifer Lee, who knows a thing or two about Disney success, will be writing the script. Safe to say it'll be better than the 2003 TV movie?

The highly-sought-after DuVernay has also been offered to direct Intelligent Life, a thriller scripted by Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow
