Martin Luther King Day got off to a rocky start yesterday when a U.S. Air Force base in Georgia posted a flier advertising their "fun shoot" in honor of the holiday. If the wording isn't enough to make you cringe, a large photo of Dr. King was superimposed next to the heading. (This is a problem because, as most people learned in fourth grade social studies, Dr. King was assassinated by a gunman.) The base has since apologized, but theirs is far from the only questionable flier to circulate in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

As usual, clubs and promoters are taking advantage of the long weekend by advertising tons of parties and special events. Their fliers are tacky at best and disrespectful at worst; we just can't see Dr. King getting behind "Bad Bitch Sunday's Official 'I Have a Dream' Bash" (or any of these, really).
