He was not having it.

President Barack Obama is nearing the end of his term and he is going out with a bang. After revealing his executive actions on gun control during an emotional press conference (which some believe his tears were fake), the Head of State sat down with journalist Anderson Cooper for a town hall meeting on the hot button issue at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

During the CNN event, Obama stood by his policy on gun control with the assertion that if the country can reduce gun fatalities from 30,000 to 28,000, “well that’s 2,000 families that won’t have to suffer.” According to Deadline, he went on to say that conspiracy theorists have accused him of wanting to strip everyone of their guns. Cooper took issue with the word “conspiracy” and the president was not having it.

“It is a conspiracy!” he said, seemingly miffed by the question. “Are you suggesting that the idea we have been plotting to take everyone’s guns away is not a conspiracy? It is a false notion that I believe is commercially or politically motivated. I only have another year!”

With one more year left, let’s hope he won’t have to draft up another public response to a mass shooting
