1 Dead after Oregon militia leader Ammon Bundy and 6 Others Arrested (UPDATED)

The standoff is over.

UPDATE (1/27/15):  The previously unidentified individual killed during the standoff  on Tuesday has been revealed as outspoken militiaman Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, CNNreports. Both he and Ryan Bundy refused to comply with police orders for surrender which resulted in his death. Bundy sustained an injury but remains alive.

Per the Oregonian, Finicum became known as the "Tarp Man" after giving interviews with a blue tarp over his head and a gun resting in his lap. His daughter Arianna Finicum Brown confirmed the news by saying, "My dad was such a good good man, through and through. He would never ever want to hurt somebody, but he does believe in defending freedom and he knew the risks involved."

Remaining members of the group still occupy the refuge and there's no word on how they will respond now that their leader Ammon Bundy has been arrested.

Three weeks after taking over the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in east Oregon, anti-government protestor Ammon Bundy and his militia have been taken into police custody. The group occupied the refuge in response to the punishment of two ranchers who were arrested for arson.

According to CBS News, authorities arrested Bundy, his brother Ryan, and three others during a traffic stop on Tuesday. Later, Oregon State Police took in Joseph Donald O'Shaughnessy and the FBI arrested Peter Santilli in Burns. Reports say shots were fired during the arrest and one person died, but their name has not been revealed.

Those taken into custody face a federal felony charge of "conspiracy to impede U.S. officers from discharging their official duties through the use of force, intimidation, or threats," CBS News reports.
