With the tragic death of David Bowie from cancer last night, tributes have been pouring in—not least from his home town of Brixton in south London. And now thanks to the wonders of social media, thousands of his fans are planning to head down to Brixton tonight to celebrate his life and music.

An invite started spreading around Facebook this afternoon, and over six thousand people have said they’re attending or interested in the event. Nothing official is planned, but the event organisers encourage fans to “bring instruments, speakers, food and most importantly love” down to the square outside The Ritzy Cinema in Brixton from 7pm.

The Ritzy Cinema has also been paying tribute to Bowie.
