A prisoner with a serious business-at-the-front, party-in-the-back situation has been caught after escaping jail and spending two days on the run in Adelaide, The Daily Mail reports. Jake Devenney-Gill was arrested after being found holed up at a 22-year-old woman’s house in Elizabeth Vale on Tuesday.

Police had been on the lookout for the collar curtain-sporting Devenney-Gill after he allegedly escaped from Yatala low-security prison on Sunday, describing the 26-year-old as 170 centimetres tall, of slim build with blond hair and a mullet or rat’s tail. Seemingly an impatient man, Devenney-Gill was caught escaping the prison almost directly prior to the end of his sentence. He also had no interest in changing his appearance, as it seems he was still sporting his signature shoulder sweeper when caught.

While the mulleted marauder was brought back into custody “without incidence” and charged with escaping lawful custody, the woman was also arrested for assisting the prisoner, and both will appear in Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Neither police nor prison authorities would make a statement on how the escape occurred – but we'd very much like to believe that it involved some kind of Rapunzel-esque scheme using his very lengthy nape drape.
