Will Ferrell: Mark Wahlberg "Represents the Lion Male to My Kitty Cat"

Will Ferrell opens up about being a dad, workig alongside Mark Wahlberg, and being a successful comedian.

Will Ferrell has made a career for himself playing absurd, but kind of loveable characters. Whether it's Mugatu in Zoolander or Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights, each one of his roles are entirely unique creations, often hilarious, and sometimes moving. In Daddy's Home, his most recent project, he plays a caring stepdad who faces trouble when his stepkids's biological father, played by a suave Mark Wahlberg, comes to town and tries to compete for their affection.

In a recent profile with the Guardian, Ferrell opens up about being a real life father, comedy in general, and working alongside Wahlberg for a second time (the first was in the buddy cop comedy The Other Guys).

"Mark is the guy who could walk down the street in a movie with his own theme song," Ferrell said. "People will step aside. He creates that dynamic without saying a word. He represents the lion male to my kitty cat..."

Ferrell also talked about the lulls in his career, and how ignorance can often be the greatest tool for a comedian.

"I just filmed this thing with Jerry Seinfeld. Part of his series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, where we had a whole conversation about ignorance being a key component of comedy. If you know too much you will be paralyzed," he said.

We can't imagine Buddy the Elf ever being paralyzed. But that's just us.
