"This just keeps getting better and better" Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) sarcastically says after seeing a man (presumably thrown) falling from a building. The same could be said, sans sarcasm, about the first red band trailer for the Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe starring The Nice Guys.

The latest from Shane Black (Iron Man 3) finds opposite sides of the law coming together when Healy a "hired leg-breaker" not found in the Yellow Pages and bumbling private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) are forced to find a missing girl—whose mom happens to work for the Department of Justice—in 1970s Los Angeles. As the trailer says the case quickly spirals out of control and turns into solving the "crime of the century." Watch the body count rise as the "world’s worst detective" (not from True Detective) gives grammar lessons and gets into drive-bys, car explosions, and more, with Healy.

Catch The Nice Guys in theaters May 20, 2016.
