If you grew up in the '80s/'90s then you most definitely know The BFG, the 1982 Roald Dahl children's classic about a big friendly giant. Steven Spielberg has paired up with Disney for the live-action adaptation about the story of Sophie, an orphan girl who befriends BFG, the only giant in his giant world who does not eat humans.

Watch the first trailer for the film above, in which bright-eyed Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) is plucked from her orphanage by BFG's giant hand. From the first look, it looks like Spielberg has created a beautiful, dark, fantastical world fit for Dahl's universe of dreams and nightmares. Bill Hader, Jemaine Clement, and Rebecca Hall also star, and the film was adapted as a screenplay by E.T. screenwriter Melissa Mathison. With so many big names involved, The BFG HAS to be good—right? 'Cause our childhood is depending on it.
