After only making approximately 432 trillion dollars from the Iron Manchunk of his career, including a long series of Marvel movies that simply wouldn't stop crushing the box office, noted indie flick hater Robert Downey Jr. is finally catching a lucky break. California Governor Jerry Brown officially pardoned Downey for a 1996 drug conviction on Thursday, the Associated Press reports.

"The individuals granted pardons all completed their sentences and have been released from custody for more than a decade without further criminal activity," Gov. Brown wrote on his website when announcing the full list of pardons, with Downey among a total of 91 recipients. "A gubernatorial pardon may be granted to people who have demonstrated exemplary behavior and have lived productive and law-abiding lives following their conviction. Pardons are not granted unless they are earned."

Downey was convicted of felony drug possession in 1996 after authorities found cocaine, heroin, and a pistol in his vehicle when he was stopped on a Los Angeles County highway. Three years later, Downey landed in prison for "nearly a year" after violating probation.
