As another year comes to a close, many people find themselves looking backwards, to celebrate and evaluate any number of things from 2015. But at this year’s Art Basel in Miami Beach, Complex and emerging connected-watch brand Olio Devices decided to do the opposite and look forward instead. At a beautiful residence on Sunset Island, the two teamed up to host an exclusive event celebrating the Men and Women of Next Year.
And there was definitely reason to celebrate. The packed house of eclectic guests—from art enthusiasts, to style influencers, to models, and celebrities—enjoyed complimentary cocktails from Moet Hennessy that were customized to correspond with Olio’s four different collections of timepieces. Guests nibbled on a spread of delicious hors d’oeuvres while groups of contortionists wowed spectators with their stunning flexibility. The crowd was treated to music by Mia Morretti, Emily Oberg, and Baddiewinkle, and, later on in the day, a performance from Jaden Smith and Harry Hudson.
Gallery cases throughout the house displayed some of Olio’s most elegant timepieces for guests to feast their eyes on. Notable attendees included Kylie Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, and Nazanin Mandi, and everyone there was invited to share their thoughts on what it truly means to be bold and daring—some of which you can hear in the video above.
