The man legally known as Bear Grylls is no stranger to the art of ingesting one's urine. In fact, dude once took the plunge and had a few sips of Michelle Rodriguez's urine earlier this year. Legend. However, Bear's seemingly cornered urine ingestion market had no impact whatsoever on the quick decision-making skills of President Barack Obama.

Obama, appearing on NBC's Running Wild With Bear Grylls on Thursday, made the case for not drinking urine with such precision that many around the globe might now be inspired to consider a pause in their own urine ingestion habits. "I suppose, in extremis, it's something that I would do—if the alternative was death," Obama explained. "It's not something I’d make a habit of. And I probably wouldn't do it just for a TV show."

Though the episode clearly jumped through many hurdles to present the appearance that Obama was really kicking it nature style with Bear, that was (duh) not the case. According to the Daily Beast, Bear revealed after filming that "up to 50 people" accompanied the president on his journey, including Secret Service and a press team. Obama also had a food taster nearby, ready at a moment’s notice to make sure the gross food wasn’t too gross. "I’ve seen some of the stuff Bear eats, and it’s got to be something that doesn’t still have its legs and eyes on it," Obama said. "Bear’s a mediocre cook, but the fact that we ate something recognizable was encouraging."
