Margaret Atwood is Writing a Superhero Graphic Novel

She's a hero in real life, too.

After conquering the world of literature and poetry, Margaret Atwood will be taking on comics next. Dark Horse Comics announced that the founder of the Writers' Trust of Canada is penning a trio of graphic novels about a superhero named Angel Catbird, Vulturereports.

On what the series will entail, she explained: "I have concocted a superhero who is part cat, part bird. Due to some spilled genetic Super-Splicer, our hero got tangled up with both a cat and an owl; hence his fur and feathers, and his identity problems."

With art from Johnnie Christmas, the first graphic novel is scheduled for release in Fall 2016. Atwood also confirmed via Twitter that Hope Nicholson, owner of Bedside Press, will be the consulting editor on the project. How's that for girl power?
