If a track is a proper banger, you don’t mind if a DJ gives it a reload. And at this time of year, we’re not ashamed to admit that Wham’s ‘Last Christmas’ is a festive banger. But this is taking it a bit too far.
Joe Kohlhofer, a morning DJ in Austria, was about to start his show on the Antennae Carinthia station, when he shut his co-host out of the booth and barricaded himself in with a chair. He then proceeded to spin the George Michael classic on repeat for nearly two hours, and taking calls from confused listeners.
He only stopped when his four year old daughter called in, and said that she didn’t like the song.
Station bosses were quoted as saying Kohlhofer will face “consequences” for his actions, but he didn’t seemed to be too worried, boasting about it on his Facebook and saying he was "feeling proud" about it.
