You know the film’s got some major issues when one of the cast members is already calling bullshit on your film. Such is the case with Chadwick Boseman and the upcoming God’s Of Egypt film.

There has already been an outcry due to film’s ‘whitewashing’  of Egyptian/African culture, forcing both the director Alex Proyas and the film studio Lionsgate to issue an apology. However now the main cast’s sole black actor, Boseman – who plays character of Thoth, the 'God of Wisdom’ – has spoken about the issue and agrees that the film deserves criticisms it’s getting.

She has a good point...

Speaking in an interview with G2 the future Black Panther said:

“I generally try to tune things like press controversy out, but some people around me told me, ‘Hey... you might wanna look at this.’ And when I originally was approached with the script, I thought this [critique] might come up, I really did. And I'm thankful that it did, because actually, I agree with it. That's why I wanted to do it, so you would see someone of African descent playing Thoth, the father of mathematics, astronomy, the god of wisdom. And in the movie, I actually outnumber the other gods in the movie, literally and figuratively. It's hard for people to know that without seeing it. But yeah—people don't make $140 million movies starring black and brown people. [Shakes head.]”

You know you done f’ed up when the 'King of Wankanda' is pissed at you.

God's Of Egypt will be out in cinema's 16 February 2016, we most likely won't be watching it but we won't judge you if you decide to.
