Christopher Nolan's Next Film Will Be a WWII Movie With Tom Hardy Called 'Dunkirk'

Nolan and Bane team up again.

Despite his films being as long and complicated AF, Christopher Nolan has always steadily produced new ones at the rate of one every two or three years. But we haven’t heard anything from him since his space epic Interstellar dropped in 2014.

Now his next film has been confirmed. It’s going to be a World War II movie called Dunkirk, presumably based on the evacuation of British soldiers from Northern France in 1940. It was a highly planned strategic mission, and all the militaristic planning and details sounds very Nolan-esque.  Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, and Tom Hardy are all rumoured to be involved, but supposedly they’re going with a main cast of unknowns.

Dunkirk is due to be released in July 2017.
