A New York City woman was walking past a shuttered toy store recently when she had an idea.

Carol Suchman regularly donates toys to children who would go without during the holidays,  but here was an entire store, likely about to be liquidated. She called the owner of Hudson Party Store  in the West Village and made a deal to buy it—all of it—reports New York 1.

She took the thousands of toys and school supplies and donated them all to the Department of Homeless Services.

Suchman's money comes from back when she and her husband owned a successful technology company, the station reports.

"Children is always my focus," she said. "So that's why, a lot of foster kids get a lot of used things and I realized a lot of them never had a birthday gift that they actually wanted."

It's reportedly the first time anyone has bought an entire store to donate it to the agency.
