Remember Gamergate? The controversial discussion on sexism in video gaming culture sparked by online harassment toward women like game designer Zoe Quinn? Well that story is about to be adapted to the big screen and Scarlett Johansson could star in it.

Deadlinereports that Amy Pascal’s Pascal Pictures purchased the rights to a movie based on Quinn’s memoir How To Save The Internet From Itself, and that Johansson is very interested in being the lead. The creator of the game “Depression Quest” received rape and death threats after her ex-boyfriend penned a blog post accusing her of sleeping with journalists for favorable reviews.

She confirmed the news Friday on Twitter

Two announcements in one: 1 - I'm publishing a book with Touchstone, a Simon and Schuster imprint 2 - That book is being made into a movie

I am mostly hoping to do the subject matter justice and reduce the number of times people hear "it's just the internet get offline"
